Llanrhaeadr to return to Recreation Field after ground passes inspection
Llanrhaeadr have received the green light to return to the Recreation Field for the upcoming season.
Having had a ground inspection by the Football Association of Wales, Llanrhaeadr were given the go-ahead to return to their home ground.
For the last season, the Powys club played their home fixtures at Llansantffraid.
Despite playing away from their Recreational Field home, they survived their first season back in the second tier in four years, finishing 12th out of 16th.
The club released a statement saying: “The club has just passed its Ground Criteria Inspection by the Football Association of Wales.
“Championship North League football will be back in Llan for 2019/20! A massive thank for you to all that have made this happen.”
It comes after the club erected a stand which passes the criteria to play in the second tier.
They marked the opening of a new football stand with a friendly against Welsh Premier League side Bala Town.
The Lakesiders claimed a 4-2 victory over the Championship North side. Chris Venables scored a brace, whilst a trialist and Henry Jones had a goal apiece.
Congratulations and Well Done to all those who have worked so hard to ensure that The Football ground passed the Ground Criteria Inspection.
Good Luck for the coming season. Wish I was still lived near enough to support you, but I will support from a distance.
