Llandudno sign former Rhyl and Holywell midfielder Pomeyie

Llandudno have announced the signing of Aaron Pomeyie after the midfielder impressed as a trialist during the opening stages of pre-season.

Pomeyie has experience of playing in the second tier of Welsh football after spells at Holywell Town and Rhyl prior to heading to Maesdu Park.

The midfielder has worked alongside Llandudno manager Matt Jones during his time in Rhyl, and Jones says he is fully aware of what his new signing can bring to the Llandudno ranks.

Speaking to llandudnofc.co.uk, former Denbigh Town boss Jones said: “I’m delighted to be bringing Azza into the group at this stage.

“He’s a player I’ve worked with before at Rhyl and I watched him closely at Holywell last season, so I know what he can bring to the side.

“He’s played two 45 minutes over the two games so far and has impressed so we are pleased to get this one sorted nice and quickly.”

Pomeyie and his Llandudno side will play in the revamped FAW Championship North & Mid next season following the club’s relegation from the Welsh Premier League in 2018/19.
