Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup: Group stage draw made for revamped competition

The draw for the group stage of the revamped Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup has been made. 

The new edition of the competition sees the ten WPWL sides split into two groups of five teams. 

The sides in each group will play each other once, with the top two teams progressing to the semi-finals.

In group 1, the league’s only north Wales representatives in Rhyl and Llandudno have been drawn together alongside rivals Cardiff City and Swansea City.

Abergavenny are also part of group 1. 

Meanwhile, in group 2, last season’s champions Cardiff Metropolitan have been drawn alongside 2018 winners Cyncoed. 

Aberystwyth Town, Briton Ferry Llansawel and Port Talbot Town are the other sides to complete group 2.
