Cardiff Metropolitan have signed Sophie Hancocks from Swansea City ahead of their UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers.
The midfielder is the Archer’s sixth signing ahead of the new season, and follows in the footsteps of Jodie Passmore, who also recently signed for Met from Swansea City.
Alexis Rienks, Amy Long, Emily Allen and Micaela Milavec are the other signings.
The 22-year-old explained how much she is looking forward to getting underway at Cyncoed.
“I’m really excited for a new challenge here at Cardiff Met,” Hancocks said.
“I’m looking forward to bringing my previous experiences of the Champions League to the rest of the team and I am eager for the league to start.”
She also sent a tweet thanking everybody at Swansea City:
I want to thank everyone at Swansea City Ladies for the last six incredible seasons, from the staff, supporters and every player I’ve had the pleasure to play with. I’m very excited for the new challenge ahead and looking forward to the @UWCL with the club ⚽🏹 https://t.co/RgzqnXAOPR
