More than 18,000 votes for Wales’ top flight to be added to FIFA 20
A poll which asks FIFA players which leagues they would like to see added to the newest version of the game has seen the Cymru Premier receive over 18,000 votes.
The survey, which is run by fifplay.com, has had over 3.9 million responses, with more than 100 leagues being suggested by supporters.
As of July 23, the Cymru Premier had received 18,779 votes, enough to see it placed 63rd.
The UAE (United Arab Emirates) League topped the rankings with 262,440 votes.
Just 60 votes behind on 262,380 was the Finnish League.
The latest instalment of the popular video game, FIFA 20, is set to be released on September 27.
Supporters of Wales’ top-flight league have long been hoping that the game’s developers, EA, will make the league accessible, citing perhaps less popular leagues which have made their way on to the game.
The recent success of The New Saints and Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers has only increased the demand to see the recently-renamed league added.
The Saints overcome Kosovans Feronikeli, while the Nomads stunned Kilmarnock.
