Former Wales international midfielder Jack Collison has joined the coaching staff of Atlanta United.
Collison moves to the Major League Soccer side as part of their academy, working alongside their director Tony Annan.
He could be working with Josh Francombe, an American born footballer from Georgia, who has represented Wales at Under-16 level.
The 30-year-old tweeted the news this week: To say I’m excited is an understatement…
“I can’t wait to get started with @ATLUTD with @TonyAnnan1 & the team. I’m ready to smash the next chapter.”
Collison was previously the coach of West Ham United’s under-16 academy team.
The former West Ham midfielder is part of the 2018/2019 UEFA Pro Licence course at the Football Association of Wales. He had previously done his A-Licence qualification with the FAW.
With Wales, Collison made 15 caps for Wales but had to retire due to a knee injury.
The Watford-born midfielder made a total of 121 appearances for West Ham, scoring 14 goals. He also had loan spells with Bournemouth and Wigan Athletic, as well as brief spells with Ipswich Town and Peterborough United.
