Wigan Athletic sign Welsh forward Kieffer Moore
Wigan Athletic have signed Welsh forward Kieffer Moore.
The 26-year-old joins from Barnsley on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
He links up with Wales teammate Lee Evans, who scored the winner against Cardiff on Saturday.
Speaking to WiganAthletic.com after the move, Moore said: “It’s been in the pipeline for a long time, so to finally get the deal over the line and sign here is a brilliant feeling.
“I signed because of the way the club is going. I’ve had chats with the manager and the chairman and everything about it seems right.
Since the interest was made I’ve been really excited about the opportunity and thankfully it’s all come about.
“The gaffer is an infectious character, a really nice guy and I’m really looking forward to working with him.
“The staff have taken me through it all and they’ve been showing me what they want to see through my style of play so I can bring all that I can to this team.”
Moore was Barnsley’s 2018/19 top goalscorer, helping them to promotion to the Championship. He scored 19 times in all competitions and was named in the PFA League One Team of the Season.
A former England C international, Moore is eligible to play for Wales and was called up to take part in a training camp, ahead of the European Championship qualifiers, alongside fellow Lactic Owen Evans.
He qualifies for Wales through his maternal grandfather.
