Wales manager Jayne Ludlow has named her first squad for the upcoming European Championship Qualifiers.

Ludlow’s side will take on the Faroe Islands in Torshavn on the 29th August, before hosting Northern Ireland at Rodney Parade on the 3rd September.

Rachel Rowe returns to the side, following a lengthy injury.

15-year-old Carrie Jones, who plays for Cardiff City Ladies, has been called up, having trained with the first team before.

Wales’ most capped player Jess Fishlock misses out due to an ACL injury, which will see her sidelined until 2020.

There are opportunities for goalkeeper Olivia Clark, Anna Filbey, Carrie Jones and Lily Woodham to make their debuts should they make an appearance.

Angharad James comes back into the squad after being rested for the recent victory over New Zealand.

Cardiff City Ladies make up most of the squad, with four players called up from the National League side.
