Wales Women: Number of Welsh players involved in FA Women’s Cup

A number of Wales players were in action in the FA Women’s National League this afternoon.

There were a total of five Welsh players involved in the goalless draw between Charlton Athletic and Lewes in the FA Women’s Championship.

Charlie Estcourt and Lily Woodham started for Charlton, whilst Ellie Leek came on for a 33-minute cameo for the Addicks.

Rhian Cleverly and Emma Jones started for Lewes, Emily Jones came on as a substitute towards the end, playing five minutes. 

Having made her debut for Lewes, Emily Jones tweeted: “I’m extremely grateful to make my debut for this team. 

“I learn so much each week off everyone and I am honoured to be a part of this journey with this team.” 

Cori Williams, who had been involved in previous squads, started for Cardiff City Ladies in their 5-1 FA WNL Cup victory over Maidenhead United. 

Laura O’Sullivan and Kylie Nolan, who are in the Wales squad for the upcoming Qualifiers, also featured for Cardiff. 

Olivia Clark was in goals for Huddersfield Town’s 4-3 victory over Nottingham Forest in the FA Women’s National League Cup.
