We’ve taken a look at why Harry Wilson should be in the starting line-up for Wales’ crucial Euro 2020 qualifier against Azerbaijan next week.

The Welsh winger produced a moment of pure brilliance with a stunning free-kick against Manchester City on the weekend, and it is essential he starts in the must win game against Azerbaijan in Cardiff.

It isn’t the first time he has produced this sort of end product, in fact, the Wrexham-born player has scored four goals from free-kicks since the start of last season – the most of any player in the Premier League and Championship in that time.

He has also scored an astonishing 11 goals from outside the box, dating back to the start of the last campaign, where he impressed on-loan at Championship outfit Derby County – scoring on 16 occasions in 43 outings, while chipping in with four assists.

He has the ability to make a real difference for his country, as they go in search of a win which will keep their qualification hopes alive.

They currently sit in fourth place in Group E, six points off current leaders Hungary – who beat the Red Dragons 1-0 at the Groupama Arena in June.

Wilson joined AFC Bournemouth on loan from Liverpool in the summer and has got off to a flyer; scoring two goals in two games for Eddie Howe’s side.

If the wide-man can produce this type of brilliance, then he will no doubt be pivotal for Wales for the remaining of their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign. He has got the talent – now he needs to produce the goods for Ryan Giggs’ men.

He should get the nod next Friday following his sublime form for the Cherries, which has seen the South Coast outfit gain four points from their first three games; they sit in 11th place overall.

It has also emerged that Juventus star Aaron Ramsey has withdrawn for the game against the side ranked 109th in the world, increasing the need for a player who has the ability to turn a game on its head.
