Former Wales head of performance Dr Ryland Morgans has joined the coaching staff of Luton Town.

Morgans joins the Sky Bet Championship side as a technical coach, working alongside Graeme Jones.

The 42-year-old will combine his role as assistant manager of the Ivory Coast with his duties for the Hatters.

“I’ve always coached fitness and performance along with the tactical and technical side of football, so I’m flexible to whatever Graeme, the rest of the staff and players need from me, said Jones to LutonTownFC.co.uk.

“I’m really looking forward to working at a club that has been on the up for so long and has started the Championship season really well.

“I’ve been watching closely while in talks with Graeme and I’ve been excited by what I’ve seen, even more so now I’m here and have been able to work with those players out on the grass.”

The UEFA Pro Licence also has experience of working with Crystal Palace, Everton and Liverpool.

A former Leicester City apprentice, Morgans had a playing career with Welsh sides Merthyr Tydfil, Newport County and Cardiff Metropolitan.
