Bala Town midfielder Danny Gosset reveals blood cancer diagnosis
Bala Town midfielder Daniel Gosset has revealed he has a type of blood cancer.
Gosset, who played for Wales C in 2018, said he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
The 24-year-old released a statement through Bala Town, thanking those for their support.
“In August this year, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer,” said Gosset.
“Since the diagnosis, I have already started treatment at Christie Hospital in Manchester and count myself lucky that I’m able to get the best possible care to overcome this.
“The support I’ve received since the diagnosis has been incredible and I’m truly grateful to everyone who has been in contact.
“During the Europa League play-offs I suspected something was wrong as I was suffering from an unusual pain in my left leg.
“After weeks of rest during the close season, unfortunately, nothing changed.
“I would like to thank Ffiona Evans, our physiotherapist at Bala CPD for encouraging me to have further tests. This encouragement led to the diagnosis.
“A massive thank you also to everyone at Bala Town, from the manager and players to all the staff for their support over these past few months.
“I’m proud to be part of this special club and will do everything in my power to be back on the pitch at Maes Tegid as soon as possible.”
The midfielder, made 33 appearances in the Cymru Premier last season, featuring for both Bala Town and Cefn Druids.
