Stephen Vaughn Jnr has quit his role as manager of Bangor City.
The ex-Citizens chairman’s second departure from Nantporth was confirmed by the club.
Vaughan Jr’s last game in charge of Bangor was a 7-0 defeat to Cymru North leaders Prestatyn Town, with three Citizens players being sent off.
He leaves the Citizens in 11th place in the league and in last sixteen of the Nathaniel MG Cup, after defeating The New Saints on penalties.
On his departure, the departing boss said to the club’s official website: “I wish the club all the best in the future and hope it gets back to the JD Cymru Premier where it belongs.”
A statement from a Bangor City representative read:
“All at the club wish Vaughan Jr. the best in his future endeavours.”
“An announcement regarding the appointment of a new manager will follow in due course.”
A caretaker manager has yet to be announced ahead of Bangor City’s next match against Colwyn Bay, which takes place at Nantporth on October 1.
Updated: North Wales Chronicle reports that Ashley Ruane has been released by the club, alongside a number of other senior players at the club.
In the report, it was also claimed that the Citizens have contacted Colwyn Bay about a possible postponement of the Cymru North fixture with the Seasiders.
Bangor City released a counter statement to the Chronicle’s article, stating the game will still take place.
The Citizens statement said: “Despite media speculation, the game against Colwyn Bay will go ahead tomorrow, depending on further weather conditions.
“Currently, the pitch is in fair condition, however with further rain could deteriorate. If so, we shall call for a pitch inspection to be held at 4pm.”
