Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri left midfielder Aaron Ramsey on the bench as a precaution in their 2-1 win over Inter Milan.
Aaron Ramsey was an unused substitute and instead Federico Bernardeschi started as Gonzalo Higuain scored late on to put the Turin side top of the Serie A.
Ramsey felt a slight discomfort to the adductor during the warm-up and the former Chelsea boss took the decision not to play the Welshman.
“Aaron Ramsey was warming up at half-time but felt a twinge and we preferred not to risk it,” revealed Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri.
The injury is not expected to be serious according to Calcio Mercato.
The 28-year-old last made a competitive appearance for Wales in November 2018.
Ramsey has yet to make an appearance in Wales’ European Championship qualifying campaign.
The former Arsenal midfielder has played five teams for Juventus this season, scoring his first goal against Hellas Verona last week.
Wales are fourth in Group E but can move up the table with victory over Slovakia in Trnava on Thursday.
