Wales C: Mark Jones’ men to take on England at The Oval
Wales C will take on their English counterparts at Caernarfon Town in March 2020.
North Wales will host the game for the first time, after starting in Barry. Cymru Premier outfit Caernarfon Town will host England at The Oval on March 24 2020.
Mark Jones – manager since the C inception in 2016 – will manage the Red Dragons for the third time.
“We’re excited about playing this match at the home of Caernarfon Town,” said Wales C boss Mark Jones.
“We know that not only the Cofis passionate fans will come out in support of the Cymru C squad at The Oval but all those in the surrounding area as well, and we can’t wait to bring international football to their doorstep.
“This will be the third match between Cymru and England in as many seasons and I will be attempting to assemble a strong squad to give us the best possible chance in March.”
In previous years, no players from outside of the Welsh pyramid will be eligible for selection, professional loan players will also be ineligible.
Players like George Ratcliffe, Dan Griffiths, Keenan Patten, Momodou Touray and Sion Spence could miss out due to the ruling.
Wales held England to a 2-2 draw at Salford City’s Peninsula Stadium in March 2019, in the last meeting between the two.
Adam Roscrow – scored Wales second-half equaliser – earned a move to the English Football League with AFC Wimbledon last summer.
England C won the inaugural fixture in March 2018. Fejiri Okenabirhie netted a hat-trick in a 3-2 win for Paul Fairclough’s side.
Okenabirhie would later move to Football League side Shrewsbury Town. Wales C captain Connell Rawlinson would follow Okenabirhie to the Football League by joining Port Vale.
