Taffs Well: Wellmen part company with manager Stevie Williams

Taffs Well have parted company with manager Steve Williams.

Williams, who has been in the managers role at the club for the last 12 months, has overseen an unsuccessful start to the season for the Wellmen.

Well had without a win in their last seven games, including a JD Welsh Cup exit to lower league Chepstow Town.

Taffs Well are 14th in the JD Cymru South, occupying one of the relegation spots.

Director of Football Lee Bridgeman said: “We have decided to part company with our manager Steve Williams.

“After seven defeats on the bounce and with the January transfer window just around the corner we thought it was the right time to make a change.”

“We want to give the new manager coming in every opportunity to look at the current squad and make any changes they deem necessary to ensure the club can be successful in the second half of the season.”

“We would like to thank Steve for his hard work over the last twelve months, he really has given his all to the club and we wish him the very best in the future,” he added.

The club will open up the manager’s role to applications and will interview any prospective candidates in due course.

“We will be opening the role to applications and anyone interested in the position can either contact the club or myself directly.”
