New Saints: TNS break league record for highest away victory after 12-0 thrashing of Airbus

Cymru Premier champions The New Saints’ 12-0 victory over Airbus UK is the biggest margin of the victory for an away side in the Welsh top-flight.

The defeat eclipses two unwanted records that the Wingmakers previously held.

Their previous league defeat was a 7-0 defeat to TNS back in 2016, but Scott Ruscoe’s side eclipsed that by scoring five more goals.

It’s also their biggest league home defeat, having lost 7-0 to Newtown in 2017.

The New Saints have now hit double figures twice in the current Cymru Premier campaign – both double-digit victories coming on the road. They defeated Aberystwyth Town 10-1 at Park Avenue.

Greg Draper – introduced at half-time – scored a 23-minute hat-trick from off the bench.

Adrian Cieślewicz also scored a hat-trick for the Cymru Premier side, having begun the scoring.

Airbus were made to play with a man less following Jake Phillips’ dismissal in the 27th minute.

Aeron Edwards and Ryan Brobbel both scored braces, whilst Blaine Hudson and substitute Kurtis Byrne were also on target.

The New Saints had previously beaten Airbus 6-2 at Park Hall back in October.
