Welsh Premier Women’s League: Llandudno withdraw
Llandudno Ladies have withdrawn from the Welsh Premier Women’s League.
The Seasiders’ withdrawal leaves no North Walian representation in Wales’ top flight.
Difficulties in recruiting and retaining players have been cited in their reasoning behind the decision.
Heavy margins of defeat such as a 17-0 loss to Cardiff Metropolitan and a 10-0 drubbing from Cardiff City will be expunged from their record.
Llandudno released a brief statement reading: “With regret, Llandudno Ladies will be withdrawing from the Welsh Premier Women’s League with immediate effect.
“This has been a very hard decision…we would like to thank all at the FAW past and present for all their work and help and all the clubs who made us so welcome over the years.”
Cyncoed Ladies manager Fern Burrage’s reaction to the news was: “Sad day for our national league.”
