General Election 2019: How did every Cymru League’s team’s constituency vote?

It was a victory for the Conservatives in the 2019 General Election as they won a majority.

Conservatives increased their seat share in Wales to sixteen as Labour lost six seats, mainly in North Wales.

ITV Wales claimed that it was the Conservatives’ best election result since 1983.

There was a -2.0 decrease in turnout in Wales after 66% of Wales turned out to vote in this December election.

Parliamentary constituencies of the 45 clubs in the Cymru Leagues differentiated in the political landscape of Wales.

The Conservative party became the majority party for Cymru Premier constituencies.

Bridgend and Clwyd South – the constituencies in which the Cefn Druids and Penybont are based in – turned from Red to Blue from the last General Election.

Parliamentary constituencies of the 12 current Cymru Premier clubs voted half for the Conservatives, as well as three clubs being represented by Labour and three represented by Plaid Cymru.

Labour were left with just one North Walian seat with Mark Tami – MP for Alyn & Deeside since 2001 – holding a reduced majority of 213.

Alyn & Deeside is the constituency in which Airbus UK, Connah’s Quay Nomads and Buckley Town are based in.

The JD Cymru South is the division which holds the most Labour MPs for constituencies with ten teams’ local areas opting to elect Labour.

Carmarthen East and Dinefwr – the constituency of Cwmamman United and Ammanford – will be represented by Jonathan Edwards of Plaid Cymru.

Llantwit Major’s Windmill Lane which is based in the Vale of Glamorgan constituency elected Alun Cairns whilst Haverfordwest County’s constituency of Preseli Pembrokeshire also voted Conservative.

The JD Cymru North’s parliamentary constituencies resulted in 13 clubs areas electing a Conservative representative, three Plaid Cymru reps and just one Labour representative.

Corwen’s Clwyd South, Gresford Athletic’s constituency of Wrexham both went from Labour to Conservative alongside Flint Town United’s constituency of Delyn.

The Conservatives gained Llangefni Town’s constituency of Ynys Môn for the first time since 1979.

Vale of Clwyd – the constituencies of Prestatyn Town and Rhyl also went blue.
