STM Sports 3-0 Llantwit Major: Clinical victory for Mellons

STM Sports moved into the top four of the Cymru South with a comfortable victory over Llantwit Major.

Calum Bateman scored a first-half penalty before Marcus Jones and David Biggs confirmed the victory.

The Mellons bounced back from their JD Welsh Cup defeat to Rhyl by putting in a clinical display against one of their bogey sides.

Bateman’s penalty in first-half stoppage time provided them with the confidence to crank up early pressure in the second half.

Llantwit Major’s winless run extended to eight whilst STM Sports claimed their first home league victory in four.

STM Sports struck first at the best possible time as they earned a penalty following Lee Jones’ foul on Chris Hajgato in the box.

Lewis James and Jamie Miller were both yellow carded for their fouls in the build-up.

Calum Bateman hit his penalty into the roof to beat Llantwit keeper Jack Lansdown.

Jones provided a handful for the Major full-backs and punished them with some neat feet.

Marcus Jones doubled the advantage for Nana Baah’s men as he cut inside from the left to beat his man before slotting past Lansdown.

Graham’s six-yard effort was tipped behind for a corner in which the hosts used effectively.

David Biggs’ got the final touch from the corner-kick to give STM Sports a healthy scoreline.
