Wales international Declan John has completed his loan move to Sunderland.

The 24-year-old moves to the Tyne and Wear until the end of the 2019/20 season.

John has made just four appearances for Swansea this season, with a majority coming in the Carabao Cup.

His last appearance for Wales was a 1-0 friendly win over Trinidad & Tobago at the Racecourse Ground in March 2019.

“I’m looking forward to working under the manager and I believe it’s a system that will suit me down to the ground,” said John to SAFC.com

“I want to play as many games as possible and help the club have a successful season.”

Sunderland manager Phil Parkinson welcomed John to the Stadium of Light by saying: “I’m pleased to welcome Declan to the club.

“He’s another good addition to the squad and provides added depth in an area of the pitch we have been working to strengthen.”

John will miss the Black Cats came with Portsmouth at Fratton Park but could play against Ipswich Town on February 8.
