Former Wales midfielder Carl Robinson has been appointed coach of Australian side Newcastle Jets.
The 43-year-old has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the A-League side.
Robinson takes charge of his second club having previously managed Major League Soccer outfit Vancouver Whitecaps for four years.
Before moving to Canada, Robinson had a 16-year playing career, where he played for clubs such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sunderland and Norwich City.
“The opportunity was too good to turn down,” said Robinson following his move to Australia.
“I am really looking forward to finalising my coaching staff, rolling our sleeves up and getting to work.
“I am moving my family from a beautiful city in Vancouver to another amazing part of the world.
“The City of Newcastle is a city on the up, and myself and my family are looking forward to joining the community and playing a huge part in the continued growth of football in this area.”
The Jets are currently bottom of the Australian top flight, having won only two league fixtures this season.
Newcastle have Republic of Ireland international Wes Hoolahan in their ranks.
Robinson will begin his tenure with a home tie against the Central Coast Mariners on February 9.
