Bala Town: Ashley Morris, Josh Tibbetts and Nathan Burke leave Maes Tegid
Ashley Morris, Josh Tibbetts and Nathan Burke have left Cymru Premier club Bala Town.
The Lakesiders have allowed two of their goalkeepers to leave as they rejig their squad following the competition of the 2019/20 season.
Tibetts moves on from Bala after just one season at the club following his move from Southport.
Midfielder Nathan Burke has also left Maes Tegid to join FC United of Manchester.
Morris leaves Bala after an eight-year spell, which included winning the Welsh Cup with the Gwynedd club.
The 35-year-old had mainly been an understudy to Tibbetts in the past campaign and joined Penybont on loan in January.
In an emotional statement announcing his departure, Morris said: “My eight great seasons at Bala Town has come to an end. I’m gutted I didn’t get the chance to do more but that’s football.
“I made some great friends and memories that will stay with me forever.
“I would like to thank everyone associated with the club for all they have done for me.
“Without Colin Caton’s support, it wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you and hope to see you all soon.”
Tibbetts, 21, made 21 appearances for Bala last season, keeping six clean sheets as they qualified for the UEFA Europa League.
Upon his departure from Bala, Tibbetts said: “I want to say a huge thank you to Bala Town or my time at the club.
‘Unfortunately, I won’t be back next season from a decision not in my hands.
“Thanks to the fans and the support throughout the season and good luck next year.”
Also moving on from Bala after four years is combative midfielder Nathan Burke who has moved to English non-league side FC United of Manchester.
Announcing his departure on social media, Burke said: “Thanks to Bala Town for four fantastic years at the club.
“Too many people to thank but appreciate what the club have done for me over the years and no better way to finish in the Europa league.
“I’ve made a decision to go back into the English system and see where it takes me.”
The 24-year-old made 137 appearances for Colin Caton’s side with a Welsh Cup win as a key highlight in his Bala career.
Despite all three departures, earlier this week, the club announced the signing of Cardiff Metropolitan attacker Will Evans.
