Championship fixtures: Here’s when you can watch Wales’ stars in action as dates for remaining games revealed

Wales’ Championship stars will return to action later this month with the rest of the campaign taking place behind closed doors.

The 2019/20 season was brought to a halt in March owing to the coronavirus pandemic, but EFL chiefs gave the green light for the campaign to resume on Saturday, June 20.

And they have now confirmed the fixtures and dates for the resumption of the season, with each team scheduled to play their nine remaining matches.

Wales boss Ryan Giggs would have picked his squad for the 2020 European Championships, which was set to get under way in four days, had the tournament not been pushed back until 2021 due to the crisis.

Giggs, however, will no doubt cast a watchful eye on the conclusion of the season to see how his players fare over the coming weeks.

Promotion hopefuls Fulham and Brentford, who are both in the play-off spots, will get proceedings back under way when they meet at Craven Cottage on June 20.

Meanwhile, league leaders Leeds United, currently a point better off than second-placed West Brom, will resume action on the following day against Cardiff City at 12pm.

Wales striker Tyler Roberts and midfielder Will Vaulks could go head-to-head in what is set to be mouthwatering clash in front of the television cameras, with Cardiff coming from three goals behind to snatch a point in the reverse fixture.

Roberts will be looking to get Marco Bielsa’s men over the line in Leeds’ bid for a return to the top-flight. While Vaulks, who has been a mainstay in Cardiff’s midfield since Neil Harris’ arrival at the club, is expected to play a key role in the Bluebirds’ promotion charge.

Vaulks will be in action in front of the TV cameras again six days later as Cardiff make the trip to Deepdale to take on Preston North End. That fixture will be shown live on Sky Sports at 12:30pm.

Swansea City’s clash with Millwall on Tuesday, June 30 will take place live on Sky Sports at 5pm. Defensive trio Joe Rodon, Connor Roberts and Ben Cabango will be aiming to help Steve Cooper’s side, who sit three points adrift of the play-off places, secure a top-six finish.
