Former Bala Town duo David Artell and Kenny Lunt have won promotion to League One with Crewe Alexandra.

The Cheshire club were promoted on a points-per-game basis following the curtailment of the 2019/20 League Two season.

Crewe finished second to Swindon Town in the table, finishing on 85.78 points.

Artell, who played for Bala Town and Port Talbot in the latter stages of his playing career, led the Alex to their first promotion in eight years.

He made 43 appearances in total for the Lakesiders and represented Gibraltar whilst contracted to the club.

Assisting Artell at Gresty Road was his assistant-manager Kenny Lunt, who also played in the Cymru Premier.

A former Bala teammate of Artell, Kenny Lunt played for three years at Bala after winding down a long playing career in the English game, making 90 appearances for the club.
