Abergavenny Women: Pennies seeking new manager after Laura Davies departs

Abergavenny Women are looking for a new manager to lead them into the next Welsh Premier Women’s League campaign.

Former boss Laura Davies announced her departure from the club last month after the 2019/20 season came to a premature end owing to the Coronavirus pandemic and now the Pen-y-Pound club is formally inviting applications for the first team manager vacancy.

She spent three years as a player at the club before taking up the managers role alongside Ceri Hudson following Richie Jeremiah’s departure.

The Monmouthshire club finished seventh in the top flight of Women’s football last season under her stewardship.

Sharing a collage of her squad photos at Abergavenny, Davies tweeted: “Thank you to everyone at Abergavenny, old and new.

“I’ve had the best 4 years I ever could’ve hoped for.”

As Davies moves on from the club, they are now taking applications to fulfil the vacancy left by a long-serving player.

Essential elements of any application for the vacancy are a ‘B Licence’ qualification, available Wednesday and Sunday and willing to travel.

Anyone interested in the post is asked to contact the club via their email at abergavennywfc@hotmail.com
