Gresford Athletic: Eddie Maurice-Jones replaces Richard Capper at helm

Gresford Athletic have re-appointed Eddie Maurice-Jones as first-team manager the club has announced after Richard Capper stepped down from his duties due to work commitments.

Maurice-Jones returns to the position after four years away from the club, first departing when they sat in the Welsh National Premier Division.

Leading the Colliers to silverware in only his first season in charge back in 2014/15, completing the double as the side won both the title and the Welsh Premier Division Cup that year.

Now in the JD Cymru North, the returning manager has high hopes for what he can achieve with his hometown club, with Alan Williams also joining as first team coach.

Maurice-Jones and Williams have worked alongside each other previously at Rhyl, whilst the latter also had a stint at Gresford back in the 2015/16 season.

“I’m delighted to have joined Gresford Athletic,” Maurice-Jones said.

“It is a club that I have great respect for, and I have found lots of great memories here.

“To be given the opportunity to return to my local club, where it all started, is a privilege and I look forward to working with the staff, players and committee.”
