Cardiff City defender Jazz Richards has confirmed that he has left the Championship club.
Richards, one of Wales’ Euro 2016 heroes, joined the Bluebirds from Fulham in a swap deal with Scott Malone four years ago.
The 29-year-old’s spell at the Cardiff City Stadium, however, has been plagued by injuries, limiting him to just 57 appearances.
And Cardiff boss Neil Harris confirmed that he had suffered another injury setback earlier this month, ensuring he will miss the Championship clash with Leeds United on Sunday.
Richards’ contract at the club was set to expire in June, with the pandemic forcing FIFA to make decisions on players’ contracts with the season now scheduled to run into July – and even August for the play-offs.
And the world governing body announced that contracts would be extended past this summer due to the crisis, allowing players to see out the season with their clubs.
But Richards, who has made 14 appearances for Wales, has confirmed that he has departed the club.
Writing a heartfelt message on his Instagram account, Richards said: “End of an era. It’s time to say goodbye to Cardiff City FC.
“It’s been one hell of a journey with a lot of highs and a lot of lows but most of all a great experience.
“I have met a lot of great people along the way and people I can call friends for life. It’s been a rollercoaster of a ride for me but one thing I can never doubt and will always be grateful for is the continuous belief and support from CCFC fans.
“I will always appreciate you. The chapter ends but the story continues. Thank you.”

Shame.Undoubtedly a very good player blighted by injuries. Not convinced the will or desire to overcome setbacks was there.Had it been would have been a huge. asset at CCFC.
