Jordan Carey: Taffs Well starlet moves to local rivals Pontypridd
Pontypridd Town have made Taffs Well’s Jordan Carey their first signing of the summer.
The 20-year-old makes the one across to Taffs Well’s A470 rivals, having scored a hatful of goals for the Wellmen.
Carey was on target 17 times for Taffs Well in his debut season in the JD Cymru South.
His goals tally placed him as second in the race for the Golden Boot race, with Briton Ferry Llansawel’s Mark Jones only scoring more.
Commenting on his move to the USW Sport Park, Carey said: “I am delighted to have signed for Pontypridd Town, it is an honour to be joining a club like this with such promising ambitions.
“I look forward to getting started with my new teammates & manager and together we have a very successful future ahead of us.”
After securing his first signing of the summer, manager Jonathan Jones added: “I’m really pleased to bring to Jordan to the club, and I’m very much looking forward to working with him.”
“He’s an exciting talent with proven goal-scoring ability. His enthusiasm to develop and progress is infectious and I think he will settle in quickly to our group.”
In addition to Carey’s arrival, Pontypridd have also seen Aiden Lewis, Gavin Beddard, Luke Gullick and Shane Parry commit to new deals.
