Sunderland have announced that Wales international defender Joel Lynch will be leaving the club after reaching the end of his contract.
The 32-year-old has not been offered a new contract by the Black Cats hierarchy and is now free to discuss a move elsewhere.
He moves on from Wearside after just one season, having joined from Queens Park Rangers in 2019.
The former Hoops defender made 21 appearances for Sunderland across all competitions and made his last outing in a 2-2 draw with Gillingham before the League One season was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Prior to joining Sunderland, Lynch spent time at Brighton, Huddersfield Town, Nottingham Forest and QPR.
Lynch made his one and only Wales appearance in Chris Coleman’s first home game as manager, a 2-0 defeat to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
