A new league consisting of teams from the Western region of Wales has been created by the West Wales FA.
The West Wales Premier League has been formed by the local association and will be placed at the fourth tier of the Welsh domestic system.
Teams from the Carmarthenshire, Neath and Swansea Leagues have all entered ahead of the inaugural 2020/21 season.
No teams from the Pembrokeshire League have taken up the option to join the division.
Commenting on the formation of the league, FAW’s Head of Competitions, Andrew Howard said: “Great progress from West Wales FA & West Wales Premier League with the creation of the Area Association’s new Tier 4 League. Good luck to all involved.”
So far the division has 12 teams ahead of its inaugural season with four representatives each from the three leagues who have opted to participate in this new division.
A host of the teams have already competed against one another in the West Wales Intermediate Cup.
CK Swiss Valley, Evans & Williams and Pontarddulais have all joined from the Carmarthenshire League Premier Division.
Joining from the Swansea Senior League are current fifth-tier sides Morriston Town, Mumbles Rangers and Penlan Club.
Dafen Welfare of Carmarthen’s Division One and South Gower of the Swansea League’s Division Two will receive a fast track to the fourth level of Welsh football having played in the sixth tier in the 2019/20 season.
To conclude the list of entrants to the league, Cwm Wanderers, Giants Grave, Severn Sisters and Ystradgynlais will all join from the Neath League.
The first team who wins the league will be eligible for promotion to the FAW’s Regional Leagues should they secure a Tier Three Certificate.
