Pontypridd Town move for Drew Fahiya after Barry departure

Drew Fahiya has moved to Pontypridd Town after leaving Barry Town United.

Fahiya joins the Dragons after five years of service to Barry and is the third signing of the summer for Pontypridd.

Former Barry teammate James Saddler and Taffs Well youngster Jordan Carey joined prior to Fahiya’s arrival.

Commenting on his move to the USW Sport Park, Fahiya said: “It’s an exciting opportunity to be able to join a club with such high ambitions as it matches my personal ambitions as a player.

“It’s also nice that I already know a few of the players having played with them before.

“Hopefully once the season is up and running I can bring something extra to the team.”

During Fahiya’s time at Jenner Park, he won the Welsh League title in 2017, scoring 19 goals in their promotion-winning season.

The 32-year-old featured a total of 138 times for the Dragons, hitting the net on 31 occasions.

Manager Jonathan Jones added: “I’m delighted to welcome Drew Fahiya to Pontypridd Town.

“Drew is a player I’ve admired for some time and adds quality to our squad.

“He brings pace, work rate with attacking quality and I’m sure he will settle quickly into our group as he already knows a number of our players.”
