Twenty-eight teams admitted to North East Wales League

The North East Wales Football League has today announced the makeup of its two divisions.

A total of 28 senior teams have been placed into the new divisions after the FAW’s restructuring had an effect on the lower leagues.

FC Queens Park, who finished fourth in the Premier Division last year have been admitted to the league.

Castell Alun Colts, another team who have been dealt of a demotion, will compete in the division. 

They will be joined by Greenfield, who like Queens Park were denied a Tier Three Licence.

One team not joining the pyramid is Plas Madoc who announced earlier this week they would be folding as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and the FAW’s restructuring.

North East Wales League Premier Division: Acton FC, Brymbo Victoria, Castell Alun, Cefn Mawr Rangers, Chirk Town,, Coedpoeth United, FC Queen’s Park, Greenfield, Halkyn & Flint Mountain, Hawarden Rangers, Johnstown Youth, Lex XI, Llangollen Town, Mynydd Isa Spartans, New Brighton Villa, Overton Recreational.

North East Wales League Championship: AFC Bagillt, CPD Bellevue, Borras Park Albion, CPD Caerwys, Connah’s Quay Town, Deeside FC, Llanfarthin FC, Mold Town United, Penyffordd Lions, Railway Rovers, Ruabon Rovers, CPD Sychdyn.
