Gareth Bale’s future at Madrid cast into doubt after omission from squad
Gareth Bale’s future with Real Madrid has been cast further into doubt after he was omitted from their matchday squad against Leganés.
The Welsh star who recently celebrated his 31st birthday has been an unused substitute in Madrid’s last six league games.
Despite Bale’s absence, Zinedine Zidane’s side claimed their first La Liga title in three years after a 2-1 win over Villarreal.
Gareth Bale le ha pedido a Zidane no estar mañana ante el Leganés. Igual que hizo James hace ya varios partidos.

Spanish journalist Edu Pidal claims that the Wales talisman asked Zidane not to pick him for Madrid’s final game of the La Liga season.
This season, Bale has made just 16 league appearances for Madrid with just two goals and two assists registered to his name.
He has featured just twice since the restart of football, playing a total of just 100 minutes.
Following the conclusion of the La Liga season, Bale’s only other opportunity for minutes could be against Manchester City in Madrid’s UEFA Champions League Round of Sixteen fixture.
