Cardiff City Stadium could play host to Nomads’ Champions League qualifier
The Cardiff City Stadium will stage the Connah’s Quay Nomads’ European fixtures should they be drawn at home.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Champions League and Europa League qualifiers have been reduced to a one-legged tie.
This means that teams home advantage will be determined solely on who is drawn first out of the pot.
To meet Covid-safe regulations, the Nomads could stage their home games at the Cardiff City Stadium, should they receive a home tie.
The stadium is home to the Welsh national team and has staged EFL Championship matches since the resumption of the season.
Should the Nomads be drawn at home then the fixture will be played behind-closed-doors.
The club however does have plans for the fixture to be broadcast either on the internet or on television.
An idea on who the Nomads will face will become clearer early next month. Andy Morrison’s side will find out their Round One opponents on Sunday 9 August.
A day later on Monday 10 August, the Round Two draw will take place.
