Vanarama National League outfit Solihull Moors have completed the signing of former Cardiff City right-back Cameron Coxe.

The 21-year-old defender was linked with a shock move to Premier League giants Manchester City last week, but has now made the switch to play for the West-Midlands outfit.

It came as a shock that he was released by the Bluebirds, having been rated highly by many Cardiff City supporters.

Coxe, who failed to make a league appearance at the Welsh Capital, expressed his delight at signing for the non-league outfit.

Speaking to the official club website, he said: “I’m over the moon to sign for the club, the ambition of the club is great. I can see that everything is looking top-notch so I just can’t wait to get started.

“I was at Cardiff at seven and that’s all I’ve known, but I’m ready for a new start to be fair.

“Right now, I’m hungrier than ever and I can’t wait for the new season to start and get this football club to where it should be.”

Despite not making a league appearance for Cardiff, Coxe did make two appearances in the FA Cup this season, both coming against Carlisle United, as they beat the Cumbria-based outfit in a seven-goal thriller 4-3, as the Bluebirds advanced to the next round of the competition.

The Merthyr-born defender has also represented Wales at every age group from under-17 level, right through to the under-21’s. He was also named in the preliminary squad for the Red Dragons in a friendly against Mexico, but was not selected for the final squad.
