Gareth Wilmott in managerial return to Ardal Leagues outfit Panteg

Panteg have re-appointed Gareth Wilmott as their first-team manager.

They were in search of a new permanent first-team manager after Ricky Malson stood down in February.

Wilmott returns to the Gwent club after a previous spell in charge.

He left the club two years ago to join fellow Ardal Leagues Southern East outfit Croesyceiliog.

However, after resigning from his post in March, it has freed up a return to Panteg.

In his return to The Black and Whites, he will be assisted by Marc Porter and Ryan Dorian will work as his first-team coach.

Dan Wise will also remain as goalkeeping coach.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be back as manager of Panteg,” said Wilmott.

“I had an enjoyable spell at the club a few seasons ago and I certainly come back to the club with a sense of unfinished business.

“Everything about the club excites me. The temporary move to Ty Isaf which is a fantastic facility to play football, the long-term plan to get back to Panteg House and being part of the Ardal Leagues.

“This is a club with a lot of good things going on and there’s a real good feel factor and a great buzz around the place.

“With pre-season now having started back, I’m looking forward to meeting the players and shaping my squad ahead of what will be an exciting season.”
