Brazilian midfielder Giacomo Mello joins Bangor City

Giacomo Mello has become the fifth signing of the summer at Bangor City.

A product of Botafogo’s academy, Mello has played in countries such as Brazil, Italy, Kazakhstan and Poland.

The 27-year-old was most recently at Akzhayik Uralsk – a team in the second division of Kazakhstani football.

The midfielder will now embark on a new adventure with the Citizens in the Cymru North.

“It’s a pleasure for me to become a Citizen! I thank God for this opportunity,” said Mello after making the move to Nantporth.

“It’s a big opportunity because Bangor City is a big and historic club with a beautiful stadium and great fans!

“I will do my best to help the coach and the club to return to the top division again.”

Mello joins Eridion Dida, Gethin Williams, Marc Evans and Robbie Parry as the Citizens other summer recruits.

As well as signings to the playing staff, there have also been additions to the coaching staff.

Simon Abbot has returned to the club as Head Coach of the Under-19s whilst Cristian Minardi has been appointed goalkeeping coach.
