Brothers Chris and Dan Hartland join Treowen Stars
Treowen Stars have signed brotherly duo Chris and Dan Hartland.
Chris joins from Welsh League champions Trefelin BGC whilst Dan joins from Abergavenny Town, who staved off the threat of relegation last season.
Both are attacking players and have a vast amount of experience in the Welsh game.
“We would like to welcome Chris and Dan Hartland to the club!” announced the Stars on Twitter.
“Thanks to both clubs for their help with the transfers. The brothers are highly sought after and it’s a massive coup for us to get both lads on board.
“We can’t wait to get started and look forward to seeing them both in action as soon as we get FAW approval. Roll on preseason.”
Chris, 30, was on the boss of Newport County and has played over 100 games in the Cymru Premier.
In total, he has 29 goals and four assists in 121 appearances in the Welsh top flight, playing for clubs such as Afan Lido, Carmarthen Town, Newtown and Port Talbot Town.
Tweeting of his delight after joining the Monmoutshire side, Chris said: “I’m looking forward to it, it’ll be great just to get back out there after this crazy year!
“I can’t wait to get started.”
The pair are the first signings since Treowen were admitted to the Ardal Leagues.
Their admission to the Southern East league will see them at their highest position of the Welsh pyramid since 2001.
Treowen are expected to announce more signings in the coming week after they resumed training.
