Bala Town, Connah’s Quay and The New Saints learn Europa League ties

Bala Town, Connah’s Quay and The New Saints have discovered their Europa League second qualifying round opponents.

Cymru Premier champions Connah’s Quay have been given a home tie against Georgian League winners Dinamo Tbilisi.

Bala Town have been handed the most glamorous tie having been drawn against ten-time Belgian League winners Standard Liege. They were given a home-tie but it has been switched to the Stade Maurice Dufrasne.

The New Saints, who were seed in the draw, will return to Tórshavn, five years after defeating them in Champions League qualifying.

Ties are set to take place on Thursday, 17th September, however, these are subject to change.

All games remain on a one-legged basis, with extra-time and penalties available should the score be level after ninety minutes.

Should Bala Town overcome Standard Liege, they will face Serbian outfit FK Vojvodina in the third qualifying round in a home tie.

The New Saints will face the winner of CSKA Sofia versus BATE Borisov in the victors country.

Connah’s Quay could make it a third trip to the Faroe Islands for a Welsh side as if they beat Dinamo Tbilisi, they face Faroese champions Klaksvíkar Ítróttarfelag.
