Macauley Southam-Hales: Former Barry Town defender joins Stockport County
Stockport County have announced the signing of Macauley Southam-Hales on a two-year contract.
Southam-Hales, 24, joins the National League club from Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee.
The Cardiff-born right-back signed for Fleetwood Town in January 2019 from Cymru Premier club Barry Town, where he impressed a number of clubs whilst playing in the Cymru Premier.
Southam-Hales spent the second half of last season on loan at Hartlepool United, who were reportedly keen to extend his stay.
He leaves Highbury Stadium, despite having his contract extended in late July.
Upon signing the defender, Stockport County manager Jim Gannon told the club website, “It is great to have Macauley join us at this stage just as we start the final preparations for the season ahead.
“He was a player we were monitoring for future recruitment but we are delighted that we have been able to secure his services early for this coming season.”
“Macauley will provide great quality in the attacking right back and right wing back roles. Given the demands in these positions we are very fortunate to have increased the options in our first team for this area”.
