Terry Taylor: Wales starlet joins Grimsby Town on season-long loan deal
Future Wales prospect Terry Taylor has linked up with Grimsby Town on loan for the 2020-21 season.
The 19-year-old, who has made two appearances for the Wales under-21 team, has joined the Blundell Park side from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Born in Irvine, North Ayshire, Taylor won his first cap in a 1-0 defeat for Paul Bodin’s team away in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The youngster played his first senior match in last season’s Carabao Cup fourth round tie against Aston Villa – which Wolves lost 2-1.
Taylor spent the majority of his youth career in Scotland with Aberdeen, where he developed with the Pittodrie side between 2009 and 2017, before linking up with the West Midlands outfit.
Mariners boss Ian Holloway is pleased to have added the Welshman to his squad for the upcoming season.
“I am delighted to have added Terry Taylor,” he told the club’s website.
“He is very big, very strong. He is going to give us some of the quality in the midfield zone we lost when Josh Benson left.”
Taylor is expected to be in contention to play against Harrogate Town in the EFL Trophy this evening.
