Chris Venables named Player of the Year for 2019/20 Cymru Premier
Chris Venables has been named Player of the Year for the 2019/20 Cymru Premier season.
The 35-year-old claimed the Golden Boot last season after scoring 22 goals in 25 appearances.
Venables follows in the footsteps of former Llanelli teammate Rhys Griffiths by winning the Player of the Year three times.
His goals record last season saw him win the Golden Boot for a fourth time, with only Griffiths winning more.
Expressing his delight in winning the award, Venables tweeted: “I’m extremely proud to win both of these awards again.
“A huge thanks to my teammates, staff and supporters at Bala Town. I win neither without them.”
His goals guided Bala to a third-placed finish where they qualified for the Europa League.
Venables continued his fine form into this season as he writ his name into Bala folklore after scoring the winning goal against Valletta last month.
Venables wasn’t the only award winner at Bala, with one awarded to a non-player.
First-team physio Ffiona Evans won the Unsung Hero award for her work in Danny Gossett’s recovery.
