Bala Town sign midfielder Liam Davies

Bala Town have added strength in depth with the addition of midfielder Liam Davies to their ranks.

Liam Davies, who is the older brother of Everton midfielder Tom Davies, predominantly plays as a left midfielder but can also play in left back and other positions across the midfield.

The 24-year-old who hails from Merseyside will add to the collection of versatile players Colin Caton already obtains at the club. Caton’s additions for the 2020/21 campaign have added strength in depth to the side which challenged for the title last season.

Davies came through the ranks of Tranmere’s academy and has spent his career at a host of clubs in north west England including the likes of Chester and Southport. He last played for Curzon Ashton who he joined from Southport, where he linked up with former Lakesiders’ goalkeeper Josh Tibbets.

This latest addition takes Colin Caton’s squad tally to 22, which is an impressive tally considering the club is semi-professional. With the Lakesiders’ manager now being spoilt for choice in players across the whole playing field.

Bala Town’s strength in depth has been highlighted in their matchday squad selection, with star player Henry Jones being demoted to a bench role.

Liam Davies may be available to make his debut on Saturday, when the Lakesiders will make the lengthy trip to face Penybont where they will look to obtain successive victories.
