Prestatyn duo Jack Kenny and Mike Parker join Caernarfon Town
Caernarfon Town have signed duo Jack Kenny and Mike Parker following their departures from Prestatyn Town.
Both players make a return to the Cymru Premier after a player exodus from Prestatyn.
Parker, has more than 200 appearances in the Welsh top flight and has scored more than 50 goals, playing for Connah’s Quay and the Seasiders.
Kenny meanwhile reunites with manager Huw Griffiths after working with him at the Druids.
“I am really excited to be joining the best-supported club in the Cymru Premier,” said Parker after making the move to The Oval.
“I know due to the current pandemic it’s difficult to generate and benefit from that amazing atmosphere the supporters create home and away, and hopefully soon enough supporters will be allowed back in grounds.
“I’ve always had close an affiliation with the supporters for my hometown club, Prestatyn, and always tried to repay that with my best efforts on the pitch.
“This was one of the main attractions in my move to Caernarfon as I hope to connect and do the same here.
“I am looking forward to getting started with the team and management and help get the club to where it aims to be.”
During his time in Wales, Parker won the Welsh Cup in 2013, as well as being a runner-up in the Scottish Challenge Cup and the Cymru Premier.
Later in the day, Jack Kenny was announced by Caernarfon as Huw Griffiths made another signing to his squad.
Kenny like Parker was at Connah’s Quay in 2018, but was limited to just six league appearances.
He then went on to sign for the Cefn Druids, who were managed by Huw Griffiths at the time.
His time at the Druids was successful as he scored six goals in 10 league appearances.
Kenny also has experience in the Cymru Premier with Prestatyn Town and Rhyl.
“I’m delighted to sign for Caernarfon,” said Kenny after becoming the second player to join the Cofis from Caernarfon today.
“I’ve played against them many times over the years and I’ve always been very impressed with the set-up, facilities and the people involved and I’ve always seen myself playing here at some point in my career.
“I’ve loved playing here as a player against Caernarfon as I always seemed to score (sorry Cofi Army) and I’m hoping I’ll be doing the exact same thing in a yellow shirt!
“I’ve also played for Huw before and I know how he operates so to come and play for him again is something that appealed to me. I’m just really looking forward to meeting the lads and getting started.”
