Penybont have announced that manager Rhys Griffiths has extended his contract with the club.

In 2016, Griffiths took over Penybont and secured two top three finishes in the Welsh League, before leading them to promotion.

Griffiths’ side went the entire league campaign unbeaten and reached the semi-finals of the Welsh League Cup.

Last season, he led the club to safety in their maiden season in the Cymru Premier.

In the current campaign, Penybont are fifth in the league, having won four games, drawn two and lost three.

In a short statement by the club, they said: “We are delighted to announce that our Manager, Rhys Griffiths has extended his contract with us. It’s great to have continuity going forward for an ever improving club.”
