Cymru Premier and Welsh Premier Women’s League set for full return
The Cymru Premier and Welsh Premier Women’s League is set for a full return when Wales’ lockdown ends on November 9.
Over the 17-day lockdown, only Bala Town, Haverfordwest County and The New Saints had been playing in the men’s top flight.
The Welsh Premier Women’s League meanwhile has been on a full hiatus, except for Swansea City Ladies, who have been training for their UEFA Women’s Champions League match.
However with Wales exiting their national lockdown in a weeks time, competitive fixtures in the top flight will be permitted, as well as friendlies will be allowed.
A letter published by the Western Telegraph reads: “Following Welsh Government’s announcement this lunchtime regarding the set of national restrictions that will be in place from 9th November, we are pleased to announce that football activity will resume at Phase 3 from next week.
“This will mean that friendly matches can resume for all levels of football.
“The removal of local lockdowns will ensure that no restrictions will be placed on players of any age participating in training or matches, volunteers facilitating football opportunities will also be able to travel to support football activity.
“Whilst local lockdowns have been removed, matches should still take place on a local or regional basis either against teams within the same league or within the same local authority.”
Sgorio meanwhile have announced their live fixtures after the resumption of the league.
Barry will return to play when they face The New Saints at Park Hall.
Meanwhile Penybont’s match with Caernarfon will be broadcast, with the kick-of remaining at 2:30 pm, a first for the league.
