Ross Porter leaves post as Treharris Athletic Western manager

Ross Porter has stood down from his role as manager of Treharris Athletic Western.

He has called time on his tenure at Parc Taf Bargoed after four years at the helm.

During his time in charge, he led them to three top half finishes in the fourth tier of the Welsh League, before an 11th-placed finish last year.

Announcing on social media, Porter said: “Tonight I’ve made the hard decision to step down as manager of Treharris Athletic Western.

“I would like to thank all the committee for all their help and support and more thanks to the players who have came and played under me and for Treharris.

“I wish nothing but the best for everyone at Treharris as it’s a great club with great people.”

In a response to his statement, the club issued a brief reply saying: “Our thanks and best wishes go to Ross for his hard work during the last four years.

“We’ll make a more in depth statement in next few days.”

Treharris have yet to receive their fixtures for the 2020/21 season, having been admitted to the Ardal Leagues.

They have however have been permitted to play friendly matches within the thirty persons quota.
