James and Norrington-Davies on the move in January?

According to reports by Football Insider, Wales duo Daniel James and Rhys Norrington-Davies are gathering interest from Premier League sides Everton and West Brom respectively.

The Toffees are tracking Manchester United winger Daniel James after failing to sign the 23-year-old from Swansea City back in 2019.

James stood out for Wales in their 3-1 win against Finland on Wednesday evening scoring a superb strike from the edge of the box which saw Wales top the group and earn promotion to League A in the Nations League.

With chances being limited at Old Trafford, James has only appeared in five matches to date in all competitions compared to the 46 appearances in his debut season for United.

Everton are considering a loan move for the midfielder as they look to add further pace to their forward line with the Toffees also keeping tabs on former Liverpool striker Luis Alberto who plays for Lazio.

However, with Everton willing to splash the cash in January, would United be willing for the Welshman to make the switch if they consider the Blues to be a top-four rival?

Another Welsh international gathering attention is former Aberystwyth Town youth product Rhys Norrington-Davies.

In the starting line-up for Wales’ last three fixtures against Bulgaria, Republic of Ireland and Finland, the 21-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Luton Town from Sheffield United.

Slaven Bilic’s men are 18th in the Premier League following promotion over the summer and are looking for reinforcements in January with Norrington-Davies firmly set in their sights.

The left-footer has caught the attention of West Brom after his performances for Luton plus his efforts at international level for Wales. After coming through the youth set-up at Sheffield United, he is still without an appearance for the Blades but has excelled in his loan periods at Rochdale last season in League One and in his nine Championship starts to date.

West Bromwich Albion are also reportedly racking Motherwell centre-back Declan Gallagher so will they be willing to bring in both players to strengthen their backline?

From an international point of view, it is imperative that both players have regular football regardless of who they play for as Wales look ahead to next years Euro 2020 campaign.
