Jess Fishlock: Wales midfielder named in WSL Team of the Week

Wales midfielder Jess Fishlock named in the WSL team of the week.

Wales’ most capped player is deemed to be the odd one out with the 33-year-old being the only player to feature in the team of the week not being from the current top two Manchester United and Arsenal.

Fishlock bagged herself a brace to help Reading claim a 3-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at The People’s Pension Stadium; the win for the Royals kept them in the top six going into the new year.

Despite, Fishlock making the main headline, it was the Welsh internationals that ultimately made the difference in the fixture between Reading and Brighton.

Fishlock’s Welsh teammate Lily Woodham swung in a cross to present the midfielder with the opportunity to open the scoring.

And, on the day of celebrating her 100th cap for Reading, Rachel Rowe rounded off a solid all-round performance from Reading chipping the advancing Cecilie Fiskerstrand.
